Part-3-Athon Day 14: Psycho 3
Welcome to my Part-3-athon movie marathon, where every day during the
month of October I will be posting a video review of a different THIRD
entry in a horror/sci-fi series for which I have NEVER seen parts 1 and
2.
Donald W. Pfeffer, Anthony Perkins and Psycho III screenwriter Charles Edward Pogue originally pitched an idea for Psycho IV that had Norman's house and motel getting turned into a tourist attraction for horror weekends, Norman then escapes from the mental institution with a mute patient and the actor who was set to play Norman Bates for the horror weekend quits and Norman comes home and gets hired to play himself, Pogue claims that it was meant to be a black comedy but Universal opposed the idea.

Is this the only Hitchcock film to which they ever made sequels? I'm like you: I always wondered, "why?"
Does Throw Mama From the Train count?
Man, I haven't seen that movie in years. I wonder if it's as funny as I remember it being.
You know what sucks? When you watch a movie you thought was hilarious as a kid, and all you get are a few chuckles out of it.
