Comic-A-Thon Part 4: Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World
Blessed are the Geeks COMIC-A-THON Part 4: Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, a visually inventive, incredibly clever epic comic-book adaptation... that bored me to tears. Sorry.

Edgar Wright has stated the movie was done in the style of a musical, but instead of the characters breaking into song and dance, they break into a fight, the battle between Scott Pilgrim and Matthew Patel is done in the style of a Bollywood fight scene.
Will have to watch this later when I'm on a computer with sound, but I can guess what you said, since I read your text review a while back. As I believe I said in response to that review, I totally agree with you. I found the film to be somewhat worse than forgettable, as it was actively fairly annoying. Like the comic, I imagine, since I never made it through more than a few pages of one.
I don't really blame the filmmakers. I think the source material is to blame more than anything else. It just isn't my cup of tea.
